About BASIS
Since its inception in 1982, the Tampa Bay Area Scientific Information Symposium conference series has provided a forum for sharing state-of-the-art research on Tampa Bay and its watershed.
The Tampa Bay Area Scientific Information Symposium (BASIS) gives scientists, resource managers, decision-makers, students, and community members an opportunity to discuss and learn about the variety of recent research and restoration projects conducted by multiple partners throughout the Tampa Bay watershed.
Held every 5-6 years, BASIS provides an opportunity for those who’ve spent years working together for the benefit of a healthy Tampa Bay to exchange knowledge with the next generation of bay managers. The information shared at BASIS is also used to help identify current and future projects that will continue to improve Tampa Bay.
