Visualizing Restoration in Tampa Bay

After being awarded a Digital Challenge Grant, Tyler DeMonde worked with TBEP staff to develop a Tampa Bay Habitat Restoration StoryMap using TBEP’s Best Management Practices Manual to address the restoration of critical coastal habitats represented in the Tampa Bay watershed.

 

This StoryMap highlights examples of restoration in relation to:

 

  • Tampa Bay and the immediately adjacent coastal systems
  • Saline tidal marshes and mangrove forests connected to the bay
  • Pragmatic design questions frequently faced in restoration efforts- as opposed to scientific research questions
  • Site design recommendations based upon extensive experience and observation
