Join the Nurdle Patrol
After a large number of plastic pellets (nurdles) washed up on Mustang and North Padre Islands in Texas during September 2018, The Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve created the “Nurdle Patrol” — a citizen science effort aimed at gathering information about where nurdles are located, remove the nurdles from the environment, and create awareness about the nurdle issue. Anyone with 10 minutes and access to a shoreline is encouraged to complete their own patrol and contribute their findings.
